SEPTEMBER 17th – 19th

This year marks the 31st year of Plano Balloon Festival. This year festival begins on September 17th through 19th. The festival is full with fun for all ages.

The major draw for the Balloon Festival will be the 60 magnificent, colorful, special shapes

hot air balloons. The featured Special Shapes for this year include three shapes that are new to our Festival; Clowning Around, Lady Bug, and Shroom with a View. Returning again this year is the always popular High Jack.

The RE/MAX parachute team will perform Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons at 5:00pm by jumping from their plane over the park and landing right in the middle of the launch field.

On Saturday evening catch the BOOM, BANG, and SIGHT of the spectacular Fireworks, presented by Pizza Hut. The Festival fireworks show is custom designed and orchestrated by Pyrotex providing an amazing array of colors in the night sky.

The festival would not be lively without live entertainment. This year’s live entertainment is by Moving Colors, one of Dallas’ most popular dance bands, playing music with precision and solid rhythm, coupled by adding stomp music and painting on stage.

The kids can enjoy the fun and interactive inflatable rides. Inflatable Climb the Rock Wall and race through the obstacle course. The “Toddler Zone” is designed with young toddlers in mind, they can experience the fun of inflatables that are just their size. Children can enjoy the creative make and take art activities in our FREE Kids Korner as they make their way through the different craft stations. Get your Face Painted and explore music at the Plano Symphony Orchestra Instrument Area.

On Friday and Saturday evenings, some of the balloons will provide a breathtaking sight as they inflate and glow after it gets dark. This is an amazing sight for those who have not seen balloon glow before.
