Frisco TX Christmas Tree Lighting and Kid’s Holiday Shopping

by Loreena Yeo on December 8, 2011

With the cancellation of the 21st Merry Merry Main Street Free Christmas event in Frisco TX recently, the City of Frisco re-scheduled the Christmas Tree lighting event for Friday December 9th 2011 at 6:00pm.

The Christmas Tree is located just outside the Frisco TX City Hall ie. George Purefoy Municipal Center Building at 6101 Frisco Square Blvd. in Frisco Square.

In addition to this event, the Kid’s Holiday Store will be open from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. This is a fun-event where volunteers take your child (age 3-12) to shop for parents and grandparents. No gifts are over $5 or less. The shopping session lasts 20 minutes and is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Major contributors in this year’s Kid’s Holiday Store include Heart’s Desire, IKEA, Paper Affair and Main Event. Other local stores are also sponsors of the event.

Besides the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Kid’s Holiday Shopping event, Frisco Square is the perfect place to see “Christmas in the Square”. The entire Frisco Square areas and buildings are lighting with LED lighting and enjoy music choreography to the light display. It gets better and more elaborate each year. In the past 2 years, regular lights have been replaced with LED bulbs for a more eco-friendly Christmas lighting music show.

Christmas in the Square Light Show is the largest in Texas. Come see it for yourself.
