Have you been to a drive in movie before? Well that might be a thing in the past but have you watched a movie in a pool before? Come out and cool down in the pool while watching a movie with the family. This year is the 3rd annual Dive-In Movie at Frisco Athletic Center.

Bring the family to the outdoor pool and watch a movie on the big screen. Enjoy the movie while floating around the lazy river or watch it from the lawn. The movie will start at sunset. Concessions will be available.

This event requires ticket and may be purchased in advance at the Frisco Athletic Center. Children under 2 are free but must a ticket for entry. There is a limited number of tickets for each movie, so get your tickets now. If tickets are still available, they will be sold at the gate.

This year’s movies are:

Despicable Me – computer animated comedy film from Universal Studio. In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by a small army of minions, we discover Gru, planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon. (Yes, the moon!) Gru delights in all things wicked. Armed with his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays, and battle-ready vehicles for land and air, he vanquishes all who stand in his way. Until the day he encounters the immense will of three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad.

Friday, July 29th, 2011 How to Train Your Dragon – Story of a young Viking, Hiccup, wants to join his town’s fight against the dragons that continually raid their town. However, his macho father and village leader, Stoik the Vast, will not allow his small, clumsy, but inventive son to do so. Regardless, Hiccup ventures out into battle and downs a mysterious Night Fury dragon with his invention, but can’t bring himself to kill it. Instead, Hiccup and the dragon, whom he dubs Toothless, begin a friendship that would open up both their worlds as the observant boy learns that his people have misjudged the species.
